Exciting news and a new dress to celebrate

Ooh what an interesting title I hear you all gasp. How mysterious. I do in fact have some extremely good news that I received about three weeks ago and have only just got round to blogging about it. Silly old me thought that I'd have time over the Easter holidays, what with it being a holiday and all, but been super busy instead. I now only have four weeks left of school EVER so it's now a bit of a rush getting all work finished.

Anyway, on to the news. Anyone else in their last year of sixth form / college will know how tense it is awaiting uni replies and offers. I had applied to three universities to do an art foundation year, my 'back up' choice gave me an offer which was great. I had also applied to Kingston and Central Saint Martins, thinking there's no way I'd get into CSM but I loved it there and it wouldn't hurt to try. I was sure I'd go to Kingston, it's where my friends, teachers and I all thought I'd go, but after a not-so-great interview I was rejected. I was really upset and more disappointed in myself, feeling I'd let myself down and that my artwork wasn't good enough.

What I really didn't expect was to receive an email from CSM saying I'd been accepted, I was with my friends at the time and we were screaming and laughing and celebrating! I honestly didn't believe I'd get in and accepted the offer straight away. I'm now so excited for my future, and it means I'll be living in London next year!

This leads me to the outfit; a few months ago I spotted some bloggers wearing this dress from AX Paris, and I really wanted to buy it because I loved the crazy pattern and bright colours, but I felt like I needed a reason to get it. I promised myself that if I got into CSM I'd get the dress too, as a treat. I picked out the red colour an teamed it up with a red cardi and a Crown & Glory headband. The necklace is from Delilah Dust, I also bought a silver and turquoise necklace at the same time. The skirt is pretty short but not too revealing for my shortness and the fabric is quite...strong? As in it's not floaty and unlikely to drift up in the wind.

Blogging may be a bit slow for the next few weeks, but I'll be finishing school for good soon and lucky for me my exams finish quite early, and then I'll be a free elf!
Enjoy the sunshine!

Product Review - Firmoo Glasses #2

Firmoo have been super lovely and offered me another pair of glasses, this time I chose these oversized geek specs. I don't often wear glasses, but this style of glasses has become quite popular so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and see what happens. The frame is a simple black, with a shiny zebra-ish pattern along the sides.

I probably won't wear these daily or out and about because I don't think I suit glasses that well, but they're great for when I'm having a Taylor Swift moment of dancing around my room with a hairbrush for a microphone and loudly singing along when no one else is around. Cue the messy hair, red lipstick and goofy faces!

P.S. I've got a blog sale running if anyone is interested, and everything must go. The link is at the top of the page.

Raw rocks and stones collection + illustrations

Warning: this post is very photo heavy.

This is something a bit different for my blog. I was inspired to make this post after seeing the wonderful collection of semi precious stones on Annarack's blog. My collection is mostly made up of quartz, with a few pyrite rocks, amethyst and some tumbled rocks (I used to have a rock tumbler). Unfortunately I can't find my bigger rocks, I had a huge, gorgeous red agate slice, a huge lump of pyrite and some purple and blue geode. I've also been inspired to draw some of the stones in my Moleskine using watercolour paints and fine liner pen.

Tentative Decisions Jewellery

I'm back! And I'm finally on my Easter holiday which should really be for revision but I've missed blogging so much that I'm sure I'll find some spare time. I also have plenty of ideas for posts!
I wanted to introduce you to a jewellery brand called Tentative Decisions, which hand makes beautiful raw crystal jewellery. I was lucky enough to win one of their Twitter giveaways in which I won this amazing crystal bullet necklace!
What also makes this brand extra special is the attention to detail, for example how lovely is the packaging? I'm sure everyone likes a little parcel tied up with string!

Check out Tentative Decisions' Etsy page here, and below are some of their wonderful creations.

Pssst, don't forget that I would be extremely grateful if you voted for me in the Company Style Blogger Award, you just need to click here. Thank you! x

Sweet Treats For Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day to all you mummies out there. This year I made an extra effort to make this day special for my mum. She was up out early this morning so no chance of breakfast in bed, instead my dad, youngest sister and I prepared a lovely lunch for when she got home. The table was laden with pink and purple flowers in jars and vases, a bottle of bubbly, an enormous Toblerone (mum's favourite), a golden platter of homemade blueberry muffins I'd made the night before, a plate of delicious macaroons from M&S (I saw them on Megan's blog and knew I had to hunt them down!) and a handmade card made by my youngest sister, with me being the "artistic director".

Mum arrived home shivering from the cold and the almost-snow. She was really surprised by the spread we'd set up, and after a lovely lunch of soup and rolls, we dinned on the sugary treats and champagne. My grandparents also came to visit, so we had a sleepy Sunday sitting by the fire and chatting. We had a lovely and relaxing day and I'm sure a few of us may have nodded off, why is it so tiring doing nothing?
